Fishing traditions spanning over 700 years continue alongside the iSimangaliso Coastline including coastal dune systems more than 25,000 years old — among the highest and most ancient in the world. iSimangaliso Wetland Park is also a place of deep human history.
Home to over 526 bird species, as well as diverse marine, freshwater, and terrestrial life, iSimangaliso Wetland Park is a rare meeting point of nature, culture, and living ecosystems.
